A healthy start to the day

Toasted white bread topped with sugary, chocolate hazelnut cream? While perhaps not an unusual breakfast, it is not particularly rich in vital nutrients. Dr. Budwig’s cream, on the other hand, provides the foundation for an energetic start to the day through the combination of essential omega-3 fatty acids with the sulfur containing amino acids found in dairy products such as Quark or cottage cheese. Once combined, the compound formed by these two substances allows them to each enter the body while retaining their maximum potency, and thereby optimizing their effects. As a result, Dr. Budwig’s cream has positive effects on many different aspects of health:

  • It has been shown to promote a healthy sense of mental well-being and lowers the risk of developing many modern diseases>

  • It leaves you feeling satiated, yet not too full or sluggish

  • It is a fantastic source of all recommended daily essential fatty acids

  • It boosts feelings of energy, vitality, and general well-being

Quick and easy preparation

“I don’t have time in the mornings to prepare a cream for myself. I have a job to get to!” – Though a common excuse, those who use it are making at least two mistakes. Firstly, by skipping breakfast they are depriving their own bodies of the energy which they need in the morning. Secondly, the Budwig cream is quick and simple to prepare – and, therefore, easy to integrate into your daily routine. Just try it out! For example, with these recipes.

Budwig Cream

Directions for preparation:

Combine the Quark with milk and blend until smooth. Add the flax seed oil and stir until no more oil is visible. Finally, sweeten with honey. Serving suggestion: top the Quark flax seed cream with fruit and sprinkle with coarsely ground, fortified flax seed.

Alternative breakfast for vegans

For those who refrain from consuming milk products, there are several alternatives possible. Sulfur containing amino acids, which are critical for facilitating the positive effects of the cream, can also be found, for example, in millet, quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat, or soy.  One example of an alternative vegan recipe could be prepared as follows:

Directions for preparation:

Combine shredded and fortified flax seed in a bowl with flakes, currants, and an apple. Add oat or almond milk, stir in flax seed oil, and enjoy!

A zesty variation

If you like to change things up in the morning, try this savory variation of the Budwig cream- with avocado!
